Removable formwork mainly consists of boards or ordinary plywood. A better system is already made of OSB or moisture-resistant plywood. When erecting a non-removable formwork, it is necessary to additionally clog the reinforcement, this option is most often made of expanded polystyrene.
Features of the formwork system installation
There is a certain algorithm for installing the formwork:
- Cleaning of the construction site from garbage, plants, preparation of a flat base.
- The marking of the site, the corners are marked with wooden bars, then all the components of the system will be attached to them.
- Assembling shields. After that, a distance equal to the thickness of the future load-bearing wall is measured, then another panel row is assembled. Thus, a box frame is installed around the perimeter.
- Checking the strength of the finished structure. If the shields are not securely attached, then pouring concrete can lead to their deformation.
- Checking the evenness of the formwork using the level.
- Pouring concrete.
Also, when installing the formwork, the following nuances should be taken into account:
- All shields must be of the same thickness. If there are any inaccuracies, it will immediately affect the quality of work.
- To prevent concrete from sticking to the inner surface of the formwork, it is recommended to line it with waterproofing material. Roofing material is perfect for this purpose. If you use a formwork system made of laminated plywood, then you can use an anti-adhesive compound.
Dismantle foundation formwork is possible after about 20 days, this time is enough for the concrete to dry under normal conditions. But this process must be carried out in stages, namely, to begin with, remove all elements from the corners, since in these places the power load is minimal. And only the next day you can start installing the bars, all the fasteners from the outside, and then the shields.
