As part of the modernization of the sugar factory in Yelets, Agrosnabsakhar is building a sugar storage facility with a capacity of up to 60,000 tons of finished products. As a representative of the company informed Agroinvestor, the completion of construction and commissioning of the facility are scheduled for September 1, 2017. The volume of investments in the construction of a silo for sugar storage will amount to 790 million rubles. We are proud of our participation in a project of this level. The transition to silo storage is a global trend and the Russian sliding formwork for silos produced in Lipetsk has become an important component of construction. The leading expert of the Institute of Agricultural Market Conjuncture (ICAR) Evgeny Ivanov also notes the importance of the construction of modern silos. "In Russia, only 8-10 plants have silos, and mostly built in Soviet times. Most of the capacities are warehouses for storing sugar in bags. In the post—Soviet period, as far as I remember, the silo was built only at the Dobrinsky plant," Ivanov said. According to him, the creation of capacities for bulk storage of sugar is quite a capital-intensive and long-term project that requires a high technological level. "Sugar is a hygroscopic product, and in order to store it, it must first be thoroughly dried and then qualitatively ventilated. Therefore, storage in silos requires a high technological level," the expert noted. At the same time, if there is a sugar storage facility, the plant gets the opportunity to issue sugar to consumers in the requested packaging, up to bulk transportation. "In addition, production gets the effect of lengthening the season, since after the plant stops, some of its parts will continue to work — packaging production, transshipment shops, etc. D.," he added in interview with the publication "Agroinvestor".
The modernization of the Yelets Sugar Factory was started three years ago. As a result of the reconstruction, the daily beet processing increased by more than 1.5 times — from 6 to 10 thousand tons. At the end of the 2015 processing season, the plant produced 120 thousand tons of sugar. By the 2017 season, sugar production is expected to increase to 185 thousand tons. The volume of investments in modernization, taking into account the costs of 2017, will exceed 8.6 billion rubles. In addition to the modernization of the plant itself, its own thermal power plant has been built on the territory of the enterprise. In addition, at the end of 2015, the construction of the first steam pulp dryer in Russia with a capacity of up to 450 tons of pulp per day began, which will allow drying 100% of the pulp with increased plant productivity and should increase the energy efficiency of the enterprise.
